J.C. by Madeliene Eggleton / Nanny Madeliene x x x

J.C. was an adult in a dogs home. This was in l990. He sat there calmly at the front of his cage. This was his first day in there, they told me. So I reserved him so that if his owner never claimed him in the seven days allowed he would come home with us. Every day I would ring to see if the owner had claimed him but no one ever did. J.C. wore a collar but no l.D. tag. So after the week, we fetched him home. He fitted in instantly with our rescues both dogs and cats. He was excellent with children. He was well behaved and a lovely dog. We kept his collar on him but added his l.D. disc so that he would never be lost again but
he never went out without us anyway.

Years went by and J.C.’s legs started to play him up and he would have falls. He also had muscle wastage on one side of his face and head. By now, our J.C. was an old man, about fifteen years old, and still so gentle and so good natured. The falls became more frequent and when he had to go outside in the back garden, I would have to help him up and down the step because of his legs. His legs worsened and I knew it was time. I love and miss him so J.C.
was loved by everyone who knew him.

Loved and missed so much.
J.C.
