Jassy Alexandria Lawson by Bruce and Melanie Lawson / Mommy, Daddy and Caleb Bear

Jassy was a gift from God above. I always wanted a dog, but when I was younger I was never allowed to have one. My husband and I were lucky enough for Jassy to choose us after we had been married for three years. Our house became a home when she entered our doors. Little did we know that we would never be the same. Thank God! I have never loved like I loved her.

She was her mommy’s little girl (even though she weighed 135 lbs). She would get up in bed and sleep with us at night. When she was three we had a little boy named Caleb. She was his full time protector. She looked after him better than any babysitter. So our family grew. Now Caleb and Jassy slept with us. (Jassy wouldn’t give up her spot). She was a joy to me and her daddy. He never failed to throw that stick for her, and she never failed to retrieve it. She loved her stick and ball. And she loved us.

Her time with us was way too short and we could have never been prepared for loosing her. I now know what it means to have a broken heart. It hurts so much. At least I have the memories and this constant picture in my mind of Jassy looking up at me with her beautiful eyes. And I can still hear her tail thumping in time.

I thank God for giving her to us. She was and will always be our little angel, our little girl. She’s now in Heaven, yes dogs go to Heaven – why else would dog spelled backwards be –, well you know what it is. Though she has left us, we will forever have her in our heart. The love she gave us and the love we have for her will go on forever.

Thank you Jassy for adding so much to our lives. If we added to yours one fouth of what you gave to us, then we know that we did okay. Mommy and daddy will see you again. Until then, know that you are so loved.

Goodbye little angel, we'll be with our little girl one day,
Jassy Alexandria Lawson
