Jessi, when you left us today, our hearts were broken. Soon our tears will dry,and all that’s left will be the golden memories you gave us.
You were such a pretty girl. Your high energy and antics made us laugh and love you. We will never forget the way you watched us with your eyes, the way you loved chasing your blue handball. All the times you got “stuck” on the kitchen floor under the table and needed assistance. And of course the mighty Oak you helped fell. You loved the water and always went kind of “berserk” running chest high splashing through it. You once saw a Cat in the bushes and for the rest of your life checked it again and again.
You never figured out birds could fly away and chased them anyway. Squirrels could run faster than you and climb trees but you never gave up. Mama called you the “little Devil” and no one ever disputed that. You loved us though. Daddy often said you were your “own dog” from your habit of ignoring our commands even though you understood.
Oh for goodness sake. You’re a pretty girl. Don’t drink the birdbath water on the other side of the rainbow bridge, girl..Leave it for the birds. We loved you and we’ll miss you. Things will never be the same. WE hope to all be together one fine day, in the endless summer in the great beyond.
See you then.
We loved you so much,
