(A tribute)
May 23, 1993 – September 11, 2005
You came to us on a cold snowy winter day, no one knew from where. Hoping to get some food your way and find someone to care.
We gave you a meal as a start
then you left footprints on our hearts.
You were the Queen my precious pet. You “ruled the roost” and yet, you were
always ready for my lap to curl up and take a nap.
You are my “one tooth notched eared Jewely Cat”.
The best of hunters? You were that. You brought me presents- Jewely Cat.
The day you found the rabbit’s nest, you were good I can attest to all your antics that made you Jewel, you strutted about acting cool.
The others, Figit and Chance, knew who was boss when you did your dance. Even Midnite when you batted her head, you two became “buds” together slept in our bed.
Cancer took you from us;
we were robbed of your sweet soul.
There is a hole in my heart now, it never will be whole.
I’m sure you are with Middy now on Rainbow Bridge, playing with the other pets. We will always love and miss you Jewel. We took you in—– no regrets.
