My sweet, gentle Jonah Bird. You have given us so much love over your 16 plus years, I don’t know where to begin. You are a wonderful cuddler, a prankster, a talker. You wanted to be everywhere we were, and you helped us do so many things. You loved us and your brothers and sisters. You were the greeter when folks came calling.
We gave you the nickname ‘Bird’ cause you liked being up high, and leaped from places onto our shoulders. You always loved being carried around, and even enjoyed being held upside down and swinging. I remember towing our little blue plastic tugboat around our rec room calling out, ‘toot toot!’ and there you were riding inside. Daddy was in on it too, installing the yellow rope in the front of the boat so it could be towed along.
You loved watching people, and in New York you were high up the hill able to watch the comings and goings of our neighbors. They always told me how you were watching over them every day and they would look up and say hi to you. Here in Georgia you climbed high on your perch but there was not much activity to watch. Here though, there were not only birds flocking to our yard, but little frogs and geckos which gave us all much amusement.
It is hard to watch the aging of our loved ones, and together we saw CoCo get sick and Shadow decline. You were the last kitty standing of our New York ‘8 is Enuf Gang’. You gave your love and sympathy to me constantly. I did not know that during that time
you were battling your own illness.
And now you, our sweet, gentle and loving Jonah Bird have crossed Rainbow Bridge. I think of you playing again, happy and energized and though I miss you so much, I know that you are now at peace and feeling better again. Our last hours together were spent with love in the screen room, with birds singing and the breeze blowing.
Thank you for your very special love, Jonah. We miss you so much. You are in our hearts and memories forever.
With much love,
| Jonah |
