The reasons why we lose the ones we love whether it be by sickness accident cruelty or merciful euthanasia are at times cloaked in darkness anger and disbelief. At times the bitterness one feels for having had to experience a loss such as losing you overwhelms the soul.
The best that we can do is to remember that we gave you love for the short time you were with us and you graced our presence with joyful innocence. The bitterness will pass with time and only the courage of your heart and the goodness of your soul will be remembered. You were a wonderful girl and you were loved.
We trusted you explicitly and we never saw anything in you but a stable intelligent dog that loved people. When you arrived you were in so much pain from neglect and cruelty yet you still managed to dole out kisses and wag your little tail. The shelter workers healed your body and showered you with love. Few people would have handled such awful physical suffering as you did. You were a brave girl that once again at the hands of a cruel master were ruined like so many whose voices go unheard and whose suffering goes unseen.
We never witnessed anything in you but love for people despite what a cruel person may have tried to turn you into. Why fate took you to a tragic end we will never be sure. At the Bridge you will see that humans will not harm you anymore or try to show you their needs to invoke violence by using the innocent loyalty of a dog. You will find peace there. Rest well sweet JuJu. Though you were not ours to keep you will be missed by all that knew you and loved you. Your life though only one in a million did matter to us.
We are sorry that we could not have saved you but we will be sure to see you at the Bridge.
