I miss you today. I remember your tender wet kisses. I can see your little tail wagging with joy. I can hear your bark telling me how much you love me.
Today I miss you. When did you get so old and tired? When did you stop seeing and hearing so good? When did you reach the moment that you couldn’t sit or stand?
Today I miss you. I remember your last night, filled with barks of “Help me” and “I don’t feel good”. How could I resist your request? Even though it broke my heart, we made one last trip to the vet, just you and me.
Today I miss you. There at the vet I stroked your tiny head and told you it would be ok. Don’t worry, I told you. I will love you forever and forever. It’s time to go to sleep and rest.
Today I miss you, Kandie. I will see you at the Rainbow Bridge. Wait for me. We will one day be together forever.
