Keicha by Rhonda Benoit / Mommy

Keicha – my beloved baby.

The moment we met I knew that you would be my true companion and best friend. I remember how you sat and watched all that was going on around you. You were soo intelligent, extremely beautiful and unique, especially your eyes – one blue and one brown. That day, you came home with us, and you brought light, laughter, and joy to our lives. We spent so much time together snuggling, camping, running in the mountains, swimming at the lakes, playing together, and with your brothers Wolfy and Kodiak, and sharing your life with your feline siblings Psycho, and Bandit. After 3 1/2 years we came home to Manitoba and you made even more friends, canine and human, who loved you very much.

You welcomed your new feline brother, Hematite, into your life, playing with him and loving him. In February you became ill with Colitis. Then in May we found the spinal problems as well. I found and provided the best treatment for you and nursed you in all possible ways that I could and that the specialists could. You were so brave and strong and you tried so hard to pull through and hang on. When I came home to find you were no longer able to enjoy life, I knew in my heart that my best friend was tired and needed to rest, free of pain. As I lay at your side in those last moments together, comforting you, yet extremely sad to let you go, I hope you knew that this was my last true way to show you how much I love you and could not bear to see you suffer.

The tear that slipped from your eye showed me how much you loved me and that you were sad to leave me as well. We spent our 8 1/2 years with so many enjoyable times and memories that will be cherished forever. I will miss you forever and never forget every night that you slept right beside me on the bed. You gave unconditional love, loyalty, devotion, and support.

I will always remember your cold nose sniffing my ears and the softness of your nose and chin when you nuzzled me. I cherish all the kisses you gave, your happy smile as you played, the way you would push anyone away when you were jealous and wanted all of my attention. Your beautiful howl and the way you would vocalize your greeting when I came home each day will be utterly missed.

You will always be my beloved fur-daughter, held close in my heart and memories. Now you are in the Summerland and reunited with Psycho and Bandit. You are once again free from pain and able to enjoy running and playing and doing all the things you love. When my time comes we will be together again. I look forward to this time.

Please be patient and wait for me.

Pre-deceased by your feline brother and sister –
Psycho & Bandit.

Survived by your feline brother Hematite, and litter siblings, Wolfy & Kodiak.

Forever loving you,
Till we are together again, Blessed Be,
Keicha
