Dog
Rescued from a pound in Durango CO our beautiful mixed-breed
dog has given us almost 12 years of cherished experiences.
Golden with a Malamute mask and tail his black-rimmed
golden eyes could speak to us like no other dog.
He could leap vertically from a standing position with wagging
tail into bushes in search of little critters. His propensity for
snuggling made us very close and he always calmed me down.
As an amputee from bone cancer he has not won the fight with
cancer invading his lungs. His noble recovery from
the surgery that took his hind leg and fortitude that
made him mobile again
will always fill me with pride
and respect.
