Kodiak,
You burst into my life so exuberantly and so unexpectedly…and departed so much sooner than I ever imagined. I pray you were not in too much pain those last few weeks, if so, you concealed it well
with strength, dignity and immense graciousness.
You changed my life in so many wonderfully incredible ways. I became a better person as a result of our time together as you taught me about patience, persistence, devotion, and unconditional love. Most amazingly
you didn’t ask for much in return.
I will forever treasure the millions of miles we walked, the thousands of tennis balls we managed to throw, retrieve and lose (you still could have been the best MLB shortstop if only you would have learned to throw), our family canoe trips, and your beautifully expectant face whenever we went for a ride in the car. You always hopped in willingly, just to merely go along, just to be with me, just to BE with me,
how pure and loving is that?
Kod, your paw prints are etched permanently upon my heart. You know you will always be my baby boy.
See you at the bridge. I love you.
Ally My Love,
