Lady by Roman and Lori Madden / Love Mommy, Daddy and Maggie

“Lady” was given to my husband in 1995 by an ex girlfriend. In 2003 Roman and I started dating and every time I would visit Lady barked to inform me I was now invading her territory, the more I visited the less barking she did. Roman and I were married in 2006 and Lady became our4 legged daughter. Lady was always there to cheer me up if I was having a “bad” day or listened to me when I needed someone to talk to and she kept me company when Roman had to work late at night. She was also an excellent “watch” dog~anytime anyone drove up to our farm lady would bark to alert us.In 2007 we got a Carin Terrier that we named “Maggie” she and Lady became instant buds! I think Maggie kept her “young” by chasing after her and playing in the yard chasing the cows.

They even slept in the same bed and loved trying to eat each other’s treats that we would give them. The last couple of years Lady started to develop seizures and started to loose allot of weight. But each time that Lady would have an “episode” Maggie would bark to alert Roman or I and would stay by her side until it was over and
made sure she was okay.

On Tuesday January 3, 2012 I had taken Lady out side to go to the bathroom and Maggie followed; they played with each other for a bit then I had said to them both that we would be back soon for I had an eye appointment; Roman put Maggie in the house and I put lady in the garage because she was having allot of accidents, I said see ya in a bit lady and we drove off. When we returned back home, I opened the garage door and to my horror I discovered
that Lady had passed away.

My heart felt like it was broken into many pieces and I felt so bad that she had to die alone.Since it was dark outside and so late we decided to bury her the next day; but before we took Lady out to bury her we brought Maggie out to say her “goodbye’s”, Maggie circled Lady’s bed 3 times then she let out a whimper and then she just sat there and stared at her about 2 minutes later Maggie let out a bark then licked Lady’s head as if to say it’s okay.

We took Lady out by her favorite tree and Roman placed her in the ground with her favorite blanket and Maggie tried jumping in the hole along with her, Roman place the dirt on top of Lady.Maggie was whimpering the whole time and tears were streaming down my face as well as Roman’s as we said our “final” goodbyes to Lady. It has been a tough 4 days for us it is so hard coming into the house and not seeing Lady anymore; and Maggie must miss her something awful because she will whimper for no reason and go to the door and look around and then go lay in her bed and just lay there or suddenly she will bark for no apparent reason. But we know that Lady is no longer suffering and that she is crossing over to the Rainbow Bridge and that someday we will all be reunited again…..

Rest in peace Lady and Know that we will miss you more than anything and
that our love for you will be forever!!!!
