"Maggie May"
July 19 1989 ----- April 14 1999
English Springer Spaniel
Our dog-daughter Maggie came
in to our lives on a Sunday afternoon.
She was a ball of fur slobbers and sunshine.
Through her 9 1/2 years she was the best friend
anyone could have ever wished for or had.
She was our daughter our friend our baby.
She went everywhere with us
never would hurt a soul and was loved by so many.
Poor little thing - she had a ton of allergies
a bit of dysplasia and even lost her hair on her
whole back once
but it never bothered her.
Her human friends and family loved her
like she was their own.
They came to visit us yes
but they always wanted to see her first.
Maggie would travel with us constantly -
we'd never leave her home!
She was our buddy!
Maggie died on a Wednesday
(a day we always held special because
it was the day we got married)..
she had come home from being groomed -
she loved to look pretty -
came in the house and assumed her normal position to rest -
in our dining room...
and then let out a groan that would make
you quake in your boots.
I rushed to her picked her up and said -
Mags what's wrong???
She looked up at me licked me and groaned again - and died!
I picked her up gave her CPR and realizing it wouldn't work
after 4 minutes held her cried and said
"Maggie - it's ok you go ahead and go...
I'll be there someday and kiss grandma for me.."
and let her go.
We brought her home after our dear vet took care of her
and we had a beautiful service here in our home/her home.
She's here now in her corner she always slept it.
We still grieve for her after almost a year...
but we know every night when we go to bed
she's at the foot of our bed with us
- protecting us -
and loving us still..
she always will be..
and we still miss her.......
more than one can ever imagine.
