Oh Maizie. When I picked you out we found out you had heart worm. We could not bring you home for 3 months. We came to visit you every Saturday and hug you and give you treats. You were the sweetest dog. You were my gift to Kim but you became a child to both of us. We loved you so much. You would sleep with us, get excieted on walks and were always there to greet us. You gave us unconditional love. You had arthritis and eventually we had to decide the fairest thing we could do was let you go. It was so hard but we would not, could not let you go through that alone. We still have your ashes and they will be buried with me so you can be with me forever. The day we picked up your ashes, we found Zeke. Kim said Zeke talked to her and that he told her you said it was ok, that he was the one to again fill our hearts. We believe that to this day.
You will always be with us Maizie and my hope, so strong, is that we are re-united. I believe it has to be because nothing could be called heaven for me that did not have you in it. You have been gone several years now, but I still think about you, look at your sweet picture and still cry when I remember. Sleep well my loving girl. We WILL meet again some day.
