Meko was our friend, our child, our companion. She was a brave little champion. She fought cancer, she fought off dogs that tried to kill her. She was always loyal. She loved us. She never gave up. She allowed us to send her to peace when she was ready. We held her and we all said good-bye as the vet injected her slowly and she drifted off…pain-free at last. She looked up at us one last time…she licked us as if to say thank you. The hole will never be filled…the pain lingers. Memories abound. Meko lives forever in our hearts. How I wish she were lying in the sunshine on the deck today….
