Shepherd and Collie
My boys have asked us begged us for a dog for 4 years.
My husband and I agreed we weren’t ready for one yet.
Well the Wednesday before Christmas my husband called
and 9 pups were brought into work – whatever ones weren’t taken
were to be put to sleep and she was the only one left.
Well we couldn’t let that happen so we caved in and decided that it
would make a perfect Christmas present for our boys 4 & 10 years old.
My 10 year old’s Christmas list consisted of 1 thing – a dog.
Well when my husband went to get her and someone else had
claimed her he called me and said “We weren’t meant to have her
because someone else has taken her”.
About an hour later he returned to his desk to find her in a box,
his associates wife said no way. So our neighbors took care of
her until Christmas morning and delivered her to the door.
The kids were so happy. They took full responsibility for her.
She was a smart loving puppy she already learned how to shake
fetch sit rollover. It all came to end on Wed. when I opened
the door and she ran out right into the street and was hit by a car
with us all just 6 ft. away. Our time was too short my children are
devastated and I as an adult seem to want to deny she’s gone.
Milly touched us soooo deeply in that short time that I just don’t
know how we will move forward without her.
All I can say is WHY?
If anyone can give any advice as to how to deal with this
and help our children through this please
