I had been a victim of abuse when my neighbors were telling me to get a doggie, get a doggie. I wasn’t sure. On one bright Sunny Sunday afternoon, my neighbor met me just as I stepped out of my car after church and urged me to go to the local pet shop. She tole me the doggies were there and I needed to go see Sallie. I went to see Sallie, but another dog caught my eye. She was the only doggie that was in a cage and I asked why. I was told that her name was Maggie and she was aggressive due to being abused by an inherited owner. I decided that I wanted Miss Mags and that if I got her,
I would never put her in a cage again.
I went home with Maggie and we bonded. I held her that night in my lap and she kissed me on my cheek, it was a bond made with Love from God. As time went on, I only left Mags when I would go to work and Church. I took her everywhere with me in the car and would not travel by Air unless I couldnt get around it because I never wanted her to be a cage. She was only boarded a total of 3 nights during the entire time that I had her with me and even that broke my heart. She was a member of our family and she was spoiled and we loved her that way.
Her favorite treat was a 4 piece chicken nugget from Wendy’s. She developed cancer in her upper right leg, and went through surgery. She developed arthritis in her hips and through time the arthritis grew more and more severe until medication was the only way that she was able to walk. On Sunday, Janaury 13, 2013, we had a Celebration of Life, with family and at the celebration, Miss Mags was christened and dedicated. We said so long to her on Monday, January 14, 2013.
Loving you for Ever,
Miss Mags |
