Dear Molly Bug,
Your passing was so sudden and unexpected. We only hope you were not afraid at that moment. I was only your aunt but you were very much a piece of my heart. Your absence has left a whole in the lives of both your humans as well as your furry siblings.
It has been hard the last few days to not see you curled up on the arm of the love seat. Bedtime is not the same without hearing you running back and forth to the kitchen to get a mouthful of food to bring back to your mommy’s room to eat. Playtime has not been the same without you jumping up on me. Mommy misses giving you your treats in the morning. You were on this earth for 4 short years but we also find solace in the knowledge that your mommy rescued you from people who did not know how to love you. We sure did! I know you felt loved and safe in your mommy’s arms because whenever you were in them I saw it on your face and in your body. I reminded your mommy last night that we gave you all the love you wanted and needed and then some. You remember what I always said Buggy? We love you because you deserve to be loved and we took the “pledge” when you came into our lives to protect, love and provide for you. You left this world and our physical lives way too soon but you will NEVER leave our hearts.
We are hurting with your passing but we know in time that the memories that bring tears now will one day be replaced with smiles. We know that you would not want us to be sad.
