This tribute to dedicated to the felines and birds who perished in a house fire on July 22 2001. There were 46 cats in this residence and 10 birds 10 of which passed.
There are two beautiful ladies who own and operate a pet boutique as well as rescue animals from abusive environments. They also take in strays and sick animals and make every attempt to find them loving homes. Neither were in the house that dreaded night.
At 3 a.m. on Sunday July 22nd one of the ladies was awakened at the boutique where she had spent the night caring for sick kittens. The message was that there was a fire in their home just blocks away. Only 20 birds survived and only 25 little feline bodies were discovered.
I don’t think there is one person who could possibly comprehend the agony and horror of this scenario. These pets were all loved and each detail of their lives were known to their owners.
Luckily the dogs had come with her to the shop that Saturday and stayed the night otherwise they too could have been victims. The cause an electrical problem with an air conditioner.
I want to dedicate this space to my dear friends Chris and Marie and all those wonderful kitties and birds that were lost in this fire.
Please take a minute to offer a prayer for their safe journey to the Rainbow Bridge and also that these wonderful human beings will be comforted by God’s love. Those kitties and birds are now with their Maker and with all of our beloved babies awaiting that day when we will all be reunited.
