German Shepherd

When our adored German Shepherd Caesar was put to sleep at

10 yrs from cancer of the tongue we were devastated at his loss.

As he was devoted to me I felt his loss so desperately and could not walk

out in the back yard without crying hysterically.

This was only days before Xmas so his loss was felt more at this time.

We decided to visit the local pet shelter and try to find another

German Shepherd if possible.

There was only two puppies which were identical and unable to choose

I said first to offer a paw will be ours and from that day NERO

put her paw in friendship to all who meet her.

Right from that moment we were her family and in all her 14 wonderful

years she watched over us her human and furry family.

Nero loved to be where the action was whether exercising the horses,

mowing the lawn doing the garden washing the car entertaining visitors

she kept paw watch on all her domain.

Our two sons grew into fine young men with Nero at their side,

a paw of approval at their choice of partners and welcomed these

young women into her family.

As she advanced in years it became apparent that she had severe

hip dispacia and several visits to the vet confirmed our worse fears.

She managed as usual for several years on pain relief then was losing alot

of weight and cancer of the liver was diagnosed.

A special diet of low meat protein and high vegetable and pasta proteins

kept her stable for a couple of more years.

Then it got that she could not walk without alot of pain and the sparkle

in her eyes dimmed we knew it was time for us love her with all the love

our shattering hearts could summon and hold those wonderful paws

as she walked to the rainbow bridge to play with Caesar,

until we can be with them again.

She is buried in our rose garden she so loved to play in,

as does Caesar. There are sweet flowering varieties on their graves

and not a day goes past when they are remembered

loved and missed greatly.

Until we meet again,

MUCH LOVE OUR DARLINGS.

I hope there are lots of juicy bones for you.

Your Family
