Nickers by Sandy / Your friend, Tracy

My neighbor’s cat Nickers passed away a couple of weeks ago, and my heart is broken right along with hers. I met Nickers just a week before she died when she crawled to my door looking skinny and hungry, as well as ill. I was so scared that I brought her into the house and held her in my arms as I tried to around to find her owner. We spent a long hour together while I tried to feed her and give her water, but she never took anything. I think then I knew that something was wrong but I didn’t want to admit it.

Finally, I noticed that she couldn’t walk and seemed very bad off so I ran her to the Humane Society and hoped that they could find her owner. As it turned out, her owner is a neighbor of mine and so she was able to get Nickers and take her right to the vet. Unfortunately, this precious, orange and black patched kitty was having kidney failure and there was nothing that could be done. She died about a week later and I’ve been grieving for the poor doll ever since.

She was so pretty and so sweet, I guess I got attached immediately. I just talked to her “Mom” today and she lost a dog as well, and is not handling things well. I pray that my little friend is up in Heaven or wherever we go when we leave here, and that she is having a wonderful time playing with all of the other animals, especially Molly the cocker spaniel who lived with her for 14 years. My heart goes out to Sandy, Nicker’s owner, who has lost two pets in the space of three days this month.

I can’t imagine what it’s like and I hope that she will be given the healing and peace that she needs right now.

Until we meet again, my little fuzzy friend, I love you and
I miss you.
Bless you, sweetheart.

Love Always,
Nickers
