Larry “dog-napped” Nicki from an unhealthy living environment when he was less than a year old. He cleaned Nicki up, and Nicki immediately became Larry’s best friend and protector for over 15 years.
Even though Nicki was only a foot tall he wouldn’t allow people to come near Larry whenever he was asleep. He frequently broke his chain and chased after Larry when he went to work, as he did not want to stay home without Larry.
Nicki died in the Fall of 1988 while defending his territory from a dog ten times his size, when Nicki was already over sixteen years old!
