Okey was a Boston Terrier and was born in Liberty Indiana on November 29 1990. His birth parents were Logue’s Moondoggie and Logue’s Little Gidget. We don’t know how many sisters and brothers he had but he was the last to be adopted and the smallest of the litter! We adopted him when he was six weeks old. Because of his small size the vet Dr. Jeff Grady predicted his weight would top out at about 14 to 16 pounds after reaching adulthood but Okey proved him wrong when he grew up to be over 20 lbs. He had to become tough to survive as the smallest litter member and what he learned was reflected in his day to day life.
He had no fear of larger dogs and in fact once ran a coyote out of our back yard! REALLY! Okey’s favorite game was tug of war. He liked to play it with his rope bone and all of his other sqeakie toys. (I’ll bet this is a real surprise to all you other Boston Terrier owners..NOT!!) He never quite got the hang of playing “fetch” with a ball or other toys. He would sit on command but did not like to obey the other commands his parents tried to teach him. Of course he recognized the important words like, like TREAT FOOD BYE-BYE WALK OUTSIDE and GRANDMA!
Okey liked to eat peanut butter flavored dog biscuits and all human snacks pork rinds being a favorite! He never barked at visitors who came to the house until they LEFT! I know that’s strange but Okey didn’t get out much and liked the company. Okey we pray is in heaven with his Grandma who he loved very much until she also left us a few years ago…If you read this please say a prayer for Okey his Grandma and his mom and dad. God bless you and thank you.
