Olive was a very special and very much loved angora rabbit. Olive loved to be petted. If you opened the door of her hutch, you could not just drop something and run. You had to stay and talk with her for a while and give her a nice massage. I always found it endearing that she would ignore the food treats that you brought and nuzzle your hand for rubs instead. That said it all.
Most of all, what I remember is the sheen that her velvety black face fur had when the sun hit it. If a breeze ruffled her coat, you could see the warm, soft downy undercoat. A gorgeous dove gray. She has large black eyes and they stood out from her fur only because they were so glossy. If you held a bit of vegetable in the air, she would sit up a bit, tip her head up and you could see her little pink tongue, and so very white teeth while she ate.
We miss you Olive.
With love from your humans,
