I may walk alone today
but I know you are with me by-my side.
Your chasing squirrels and barking
at all the other dogs.
I can hear you and watch you in my mind.
Sometimes I feel your presence in the house.
The end of the couch is empty
but your imprint will always be there.
I feel so guilty I could not save you
you are still in my heart and mind.
This was my saddest day
to hear you cry as I left you at the vet.
I walked away with only a memory and a empty collar.
I may walk alone today
but in the end we shall walk together again.
