Petals by Penny Kamberis / Your family and friends

Petals/Pittles/Kitty/Big Fat Kitty,
and all your other little names,

I didn’t know anything about your life when I met you at the shelter, except that you were a stray. You followed me around every day as I worked, and I think we chose each other. You were beautiful, silly, and unique. You tried to squeeze into shelves that the smaller cats easily fit into, but you did it!

I loved how you could be so sweet to people, and friendly to strangers, but you still had that crazy diva attitude and weren’t afraid to show us when you were grumpy. But you never stayed angry for long.

You were always our cute little fatty, but still very healthy, and still running around, playing, and meowing as you turned 13/14. But the CRF diagnosis was so sudden, and your decline was so quick. I didn’t know what to do, because you were the most special thing to me, but I saw your amazing personality fading, even as you tried to show some spirit. I felt horrible subjecting you to all the treatments that upset you, but I’m glad they made your last couple of weeks a little brighter.

I made the decision to put you to sleep today, and I will never forget how you faded out peacefully. I hope you understand why I did this, and I hope you knew how important you were and are. You have fun with T-Bone wherever you may be, but don’t hiss at him too much!

Me, my family, everyone else who knew you, and even people who only heard about how awesome and hilarious you were, will all miss you so much.

You are still a silly goose.

We love you so much!
