A cats life

This is probably the best photo I have of Tucker.Taken on a lovely May afternoon. My computer desk, at which I was sitting, is just the left of this photo. Tucker never would leave my side. Little did I know that when I took this photo, I only had 10 more months with my sweet little friend. Not long after this photo, Tucker began to breath a little heavier than usual. We kept an eye on him and he seemed to be fine. Then, in December 04, he took a turn for the worst and started realy labouring with his breathing. The Vet drained almost an entire litre of fluid from his chest and belly. The vet reckoned it was the early stages of Heart Disease, leading to heart failure. After being drained from all that fluid, Tucker was a happy little cat again, chirpy and very vocal. In January 2005 we had him drained again, only 400ml this time.Sadly, at 5pm on Saturday February 27th 2005, Tucker started choking on something. It was like he was trying to bring up a hair ball. Whatever it was, he never got it out. A minute or two later hey lay motionless. My little friend had gone after one last fight.Just minutes before I had taken some fresh raw steak meat up to him as a little treat. HE lay curled up in his little bed, peacefully napping.Just 5 minutes later, my world had shattered into pieces.I had 9 wonderful, love filled years with my little friend. He was the runt of the litter and required feeding by pippette when we got him. He was no bigger than a tennis ball when he came into my life.I buried him the following day, under a tree with an ocean view.Rest in Peace my sweet furry little friend.
