Pinky Lee

If you had known our sweet Pinky you would have loved her.

While my partner had her since she was 12 weeks old I only had the

privilege of knowing her for the last three and a half years of her life.

She was the sweetest of cats with a little pink nose and a kitten face,

even when she was almost 16 years old. She had a tiny little squeak

that passed for a meow and she treaded on people with the best of

them. Yesterday morning I got a call from the animal sitter

(both of us were out of town) that Pinky couldn't lift her head

and basically couldn't move. She had been getting littler recently

but still had been okay until yesterday morning.

After many hours at the vet's office it was clear that she was on

her way out so we let her go.

Today I am so sad and I miss her.

She never got to see our new house to lie in the sun by the big

windows. Most of all I'll never get to enjoy her company again.

I hope that she is happily chasing mice wherever she is and that is

at peace. If you have ever had a cat that you loved with all your heart

please say a prayer today for our sweet Pinky Lee who left this

world just yesterday May 12 1998.
