Whispers from Rainbow’s Bridge
One evening as Kathy Sue began
to light each candle and to pray,
She heard something on the wind,
but then the wind couldn’t say,
And then she knew it was voices calling
from so far away.
Whispers coming softly from
Karen Sue’s dear Pistol and Pete.
Whispers of days running about so happy and so sweet
Of days filled with love, sunshine, and Mom’s smiles.
Yes, all these whispers floated to her across the miles.
But the most resounding whisper and then some
She said was hearing how they wanted
to comfort their Mom.
Saying they are together now at Rainbow’s Bridge
And asking her to remember them this way instead.
“Grieve a while for us if grieve you must.
then let your grief be confronted in trust.
It’s only for a short time that we must part,
So cherish the moments locked within your heart.
We won’t be far away for life does go on,
But if you need us, call and we will come.
Though you can’t see us or touch us,
we’ll be near
And if you listen with your heart, you’ll surely hear
Both of us barking and playing here on the ridge
Sending you whispers of love from Rainbow’s Bridge.”
So now we listen
a little more intent as in the evening we sit
To watch carefully over each and
every candle that is lit,
Knowing that our precious furr babies in spirit are ever near
Waiting patiently for us at Rainbow’s Bridge and
wanting us to know
No grieving do they need,
just our continual love of them so.
In loving memory always,
