Pixie by Cassandra Dacus / Pixie’s Mom

If you are very lucky in life, a special friend will leave its pawprints on your heart forever. This is the story of my friend Pixie.
Pixie was a small white and black kitten, much smaller than the rest of Scarlett’s litter. What she lacked in size, she made up for in spirit. She was smart; she could make it sonud like she said HI when she meowed, and she claimed that she taught herself to purr(What a clever girl!). She always knew when I felt bad (I have Lupus) and how to make me feel better. She was perfect in every way. Pixie was my best friend for a year and 2 months. Sadly, Pixie fell suddenly ill to an unidentified sickness that made her breathe funny and lose weight. Throught it all, she never forgot how to purr.

Pixie told me when she was too tired to go on. As I held her paw at the vets office, she purred as my face was the last thing she saw. I will never forget my friend Pixie.

My best friend forever,
Pixie
