Pocket by Maria Chapa / Mommy

There was a boy I knew….

when he was born…he was so small…and he had a big head…he struggled to eat and walk…but he had the strength and spirit of some tne times his size…He learned to climb and jump of huge hurdles…He loved sunflower seeds and popsicles…and would do anything for a burger and fries…He was a ladies man…He was selfish at times but he loved me with such a passion…He would protect me from anyting…and I loved him….with all my heart…
his name was Pocket…

Pocket…

I thought of him as a superdog…He didnt know he was a chihuahua…For all he knew he was a Great Dane…He was really fast and he knew how to get people to do his bidding…thats just how he was…My family used to think that a dog belonged outside…because they were animals…of course…there not smart and charismatic like humans…but when pocket came into the picture…
it was like the world changed…

If you spent just a day with him you would know…his eyes could tell you how he felt…you could see those wheels turning… I dont know what to compare him to…He was Pocket…my little papa…Stronger that anything I knew…

Pocket was in love once…with a mixed breed…Candie…she was pekinese/Chihuahua mix…they were in love…she passed on from a spider bite…but…but they are together…so…I guess this was for the best…Nobody can live forever…not even super dogs I guess…

I just know that for awhile…I was lucky to have a soul that was loyal and loving to the end…

May you rest in peace Pocket

You will always be in my thoughts and in my heart,
Pocket
