Basset Hound
You came to me when you were only five weeks old.
You were all ears.
You tripped over them all the time.
As you grew so did I.
You were the best friend I've ever had.
You were always glad to see me and was always there
for me in my times of need.
We went so many places together.
I will never be able to express the love
I have for you or how much I miss
our times together.
You may be gone but you'll never be forgotten
as long as I have a breath in me.
When my time is done here on Earth
we'll meet again.
