To God the Father: thank you for our Q and for the time we had with the custom-made desire of my heart:
Q was everything I had imagined in a Cocker – sweet, gentle, trusting, friendly, curious and innocent. Q was like a child to us, and cherished every moment we had him.
We enjoyed cooking his meals and snacks, buying toys and all his favourite foods, being bossed around by him and being servants to the sweetest little guardian and companion. Q was a trusted confidant, and friend.
To our Angel in a Fur Coat, our constant ray of sunshine, to our sweet little fur child:
You made our lives that much happier, richer and contented. Even when there was just the two of us in the house I never felt alone, and I thoroughly enjoyed your mischief and sense of humour.
I will never forget you protecting us from 35 lb. squashes, romping in leaves and snow, and barking at wind-blown branches. The best was your pouncing on our feet when we came in through the door so that you could grab our shoes or boots and hide them so that we wouldn’t go out again.
We loved everything about you – and enjoyed everything about you like the occasion when you peed on daddy’s slipper when he got home late, or took off with tomatoes and bananas when we got home from grocery shopping.
You smoothed out rough days, and comforted me in my illness. There is none other like you and I am grateful for the day you came into our lives and into our home.
Thank you beloved Q for the lessons you taught us, and thank you God for giving us another 8 months after we thought we were going to lose him. Although the time went by like the blink of an eye and we wish we had more… as a wise man told me once ‘ With a Cocker 100 years
wouldn’t be enough’.
So we are left enriched by having your having taught us some very valuable lessons, and we are blessed and humbled to have been loaned our beautiful Q.
We look to the future, slog through the present and cherish the past.
