Reesie was out beloved Chocolate Doberman. On November 30, 2006, Reesie went to heaven very peacefully. We had to have her euthanized. She lived a wonderful, full life of 12 years. When Reesie was just a little puppy, someone ran over her back leg, and nearly severed it. Our vet was able to save her leg, however, she never had full use of it, and developed arthritis in all 4 legs as a result. Reesie loved to sleep in her recliner with her blankie layed out just right. She loved to play the “heiney” game with us. She would run by, and we would tell her we were going to grab her heiney, and she would run away and sit in her chair, and wait for us to tell her again. Reesie loved to lay on the carpet and eat her food and drink her water. And it was amazing how Reesie could almost totally turn her head around and lay it on her back. She was like a swan.
On November 29th, Reesie was in bad shape. She could no longer walk without being in pain. We took her to our wonderful vet. He gave her 24 hrs to try new medication, and told us if there was not a significant difference, we would need to discuss other options. And we knew what that meant. We took Reesie home. However, she cried and whined all night long. She couldn’t lay down or sit, or stay in the same place for more than just a few minutes. She no longer wanted food or water. And she would just look at you as if she were pleading for relief. Our family decided it was only the right thing to do for her. We made an appointment with our vet for later that afternoon. Reesie went to the vet with us. She laid gently in our arms as our vet put in her IV. We held her head, and looked into her eyes as she peacefully and gently fell asleep. Within a few moments, Reesie was gone. We said our goodbyes to her. We decided to have Reese’s remains cremated. We love you and miss you Peece of Pie…. We know we will
see you again one day….
We Love you Girl and Miss you eternally...
