Rhoda

Sept. 9 1986 —- Jan. 3 2000

I lost my dog Rhoda on 1/3/00. She was a black & white

Australian Shepherd. She was the best dog anyone could know.

I call her Angel Dog because she came into my life and left my life

at specific turning points. I feel that she was a gift from God sent to

me to help me through a that period of my life and get me to where

I am presently. I was living in Los Angeles when she was born.

I had just been through a painful divorce among other things and I

had to move so I rented a room in a house.

The people who owned the house where animal lovers and at the

time Rhoda’s mother Lori was pregnant. So about a month after I

moved in Rhoda and her sister Jennifer were born.

All the other pups were still born.

The lady who owned the house decided to keep them both.

Somehow Rhoda bonded with me.

Years went by and she was never really my dog until the

Northridge earthquake. The owners of the house decided to

sell and move away and I bought the house.

Rhoda and I were so close that they gave her to me.

So I rented her for eight years before I owned her.

She was a great dog. She always stayed like a puppy.

I was raised on the east coast and I really felt that it was time to

get out of LA and be closer to my family so I sold it all and packed

up and moved. It took me years to finally come to the point of actually

doing it. Rhoda was there all the way.

She really enjoyed the drive across the country.

I got home and we stayed at my Mom’s for six months.

Rhoda loved it. I bought another house and just as we were moving

in she got terminal kidney failure and within a month she was gone.

The void in my life presently is overwhelming. I really miss her more

than words can say. There will never be another Rhoda.

I didn’t intend to own a dog. She came to me naturally.

She really was an Angel Dog.
