Our beautiful Riley,
How we miss you so much. You connected with us like no other pet we have ever had. We called you our “grand dog”. You took good care of our little girl when she was at college. You protected her. Went everywhere with her, and most of all were there for her.
We miss your wining to play “shoe”. I am so sorry I did not play with you that last morning. I told you to go play with “pawpaw” and let me sleep.
I was numb with grief and sick to my stomach when I heard what happened to you. And then I had to tell your “mom”. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Then she had to go back to school on Sunday evening without you. She had to go into your apartment and deal with all “your things”.
We had so many fun memories of you catching snowballs in the air that night it snowed. You had the funniest look on your face as those snowballs smashed in your mouth.
I loved stroking your ears. They were so soft. You just smiled when I did that.
My precious Riley, know that we will never forget you, ever. We will take care of your mommy. She is pretty upset right now and just missing you so.
I am so glad we have so many pictures and videos of you doing funny things. We love you Riley.
