Today we had to say goodbye
to a very special friend,
It hurts to have to let him go,
but we’ve set his spirit free,
And we take comfort in the knowledge
that he no longer feels the pain
And when the grief of losing him,
begins to fade away,
An eternity of memories will fall into its place.
He spoke to us without words,
in his own special ways
No greater blessed could we have been
than with the friend we had in him.
Although it feels he’s miles away,
It’s not so very far,
For he’ll always hold a special place,
right here in our hearts.
