Roxy by Janice and Shona / Janice and Shona

We acquired Roxy and the tender age of 6 weeks. Roxy was from a litter of five, Roxy and her two sisters were rescued at 4 weeks, sadly the other two pups
from the litter were cruelly killed.

From the moment we met Roxy it was complete love between puppy and owners.

In the short time we had Roxy she was nothing but a bundle of fun, naughtiness, yes Roxy quite a few pairs of shoes were bitten :). Roxy fitted in perfectly with our other animals each loving her.

Roxy was the most lovable, caring, fun dog I have ever known, people in the street would always comment on how happy she was.

Sadly Roxy became sick, constantly vomiting. As any other compassionate owner, we immediately took her to the vets. Two days later Roxy under went tests. Unfortunately the news was bad, her Esophagus was paralyzed, gastric reflux, with tablets the reflux was eased. Worse was the diagnosis of DM, her back legs within days showed problems, she knuckled, wobbled, fell over. The whole of her spine was marred with this disease.

Yet Roxy still was happy, falling over but kissing us endlessly showing her love for us.

Roxy was given four weeks to live, but sadly on 4 June 2010, the disease effected her brain. I cuddled her to ease her stress, but for all the love she gave us, the only true thing to do was to allow her to go to sleep. It hurt so much but was peaceful watching her drift away.

We love you so much sweetheart, the tears will not stop. All I hope is that you are out of your crippled body, running free, enjoying life as a puppy should.

Miss you so much, our brave, beautiful Roxy xxxx,
Roxy
