"Rusty"

August 29 1999

Mixed Breed Male Dog

Our darling Rusty passed away

very suddenly in his sleep

on August 29th.

He was in perfect health-an autopsy could

not find anything wrong.

We adopted Rusty from a Rescue group

in August 1998

he was a week short of his 1-year anniversary

with us when he died.

Rusty was an outstanding playmate to our 2 other dogs

Jamie and Ranger.

He was sent to obedience school and passed with

flying colors.

He had a wonderful sense of direction-he could

find his way back to the car

when we went to the park.

He could also find his way home from

anywhere in our neighborhood.

Rusty was from an abusive home-

he spent his first year tied to a tree.

When he came to us he exhibited some fear behaviors

but quickly dropped them as he learned

about the new household he was living in.

Once he learned that he was part of the group

and that he could come into the house

he became a happy well-adjusted dog.

Rusty was always a little reserved.

He was shy around strangers

but if he liked you he would lick whatever

part of your body was avail to show you how he felt.

We were surprised and saddened by Rusty's death.

We still miss him and remember him every day.

We hope he's happy now in doggie heaven

where he deserves to be.

When he was alive

we told him every day that we loved him.

Hopefully he understood.
