Sage by John Friel / Anne

Tribute for Sage
Beautiful Sage, calm, dignified, lover of snacks and digging in the trash for the perfect (forbidden) morsel.

You lived with grace and spirit. Today was your last day and it was almost a perfect day…cool, a little rainy. Your failing body was relieved to get a break from the heat that had been such a trial.

The ones you loved took you for one last walk…and the miracle was that you were up and walking – not fast and not far, but you did it!
Your last few weeks were hard, but you were loved and cared for. Although it was grueling,
you were worth the effort.

The cruelty would have been to keep you here another day longer as it was your time to leave. Your body could not carry your spirit any longer.

Sage, you truly were a good dog and a wonderful walking partner. You will be missed by everyone who admired your beauty and athleticism, for all those years.

You and your walking partner were an inspiration and local shining stars for your dedication to your daily promenades around the neighborhood.
Sage, even in old age, you ran more than walked.

You captured the hearts and memories of those that have loved you. You were one of our family and
you will be sorely missed.

To Sage, a very good dog, whose legacy is a lifetime of love and fond memories. We will remember you as you were, so strong, before your body failed you. Your spirit, always so bright, is now free.

Your spirit always so bright is now free.
