Rat
Salt was having a hard time breathing for a long time.
At first I didn’t notice her energy diminishing.
When she stopped eating it got my attention.
That was on a Sunday. I had a Gut feeling that she would die.
I didn’t want her to. I didn’t know what to do.
She was suffering so badly. She used to run everywhere
but she had started to walk everywhere.
Through lots of heart felt prayers she stayed alive.
She lost a lot of weight. She looked so terrible it made me cry at night.
My family and I wanted this to end. We had a family fast the next Sunday,
we fasted that she would feel no more pain.
During the fast breaking prayer she died. I knew that she could no
longer hurt and that the Lord wanted her home.
I miss her but I know that she will be there to greet me,
after I pass on.
