I will never forget the day dad brought
you home to us in a cardboard box.
Who would have thought
that one little black cat
could bring so much joy
into our lives.

Thanks for being there for me Sammy.
You never let me down.
Every time I would cry
you were always there nudging
my leg with your head.
You always knew how to cheer me up.
You were my best friend,
I could tell all my secrets and
stories to you and
you would always listen.

Thanks for everything my love.
I appreciate the fact
that out of all the families
out there you chose
to be part of ours.
We had a great life together and
I’m happy that I got to share
it with you.

My only regret is that
I wish I could have been there
for you in the end,
because you were always there for me.
