Sammy by John and Shirley / Mommy

For almost 17 years my husband and I had the incredible blessing of sharing our lives with our precious baby and feline friend. Sammy freely gave his unconditional love to us and brought such joy to everyday life. He was special from the first day we met him. A shy 6 week old kitten blossomed into a loving and faithful friend. Sammy was a gift from God. I will always be grateful for the time I had with my sweet baby boy. He enriched my life with his love. After I had a stroke Sammy was my constant companion . He helped get me through some very difficult days. He was there when it was impossible for people to be there. He listened to me when I poured out my heart to him. His expressive eyes and his presence let me know he understood. Sammy sensed when I didn’t feel well and would cling closer to me.
Sammy passed away at home after a brief illness. Just as he had been by my side throughout our time I stayed by his side. His final act of love on earth was finding comfort in my touch. I miss my sweet boy and my heart will ache until I hold him again in heaven. I love you Sammy. I will never forget you. Run those streets of gold with Jeremiah and Abbey until we meet again.
