Shadrach by Mindy Huspen / Mindy

Dear Shadrach,
I’ll miss the way you expectantly waited for your food in the morning, the times that I let you out and you wouldn’t want to go back, and the soothing touch of your beautiful fur, especially behind the neck.

I wish I could have given you more of my time, and a better space to live in. I always figured that all the times you got out of your cage would get the best of you someday, and for once I regret being right. Thumper probably won’t miss you though. He probably appreciates not getting sprayed on anymore! 🙂

I had wanted to sell you because I couldn’t provide what you needed, but I never wanted to get rid of you this way! You had a lot of good years left in you, and I wish you could have spent them with a loving family that would have given you everything I couldn’t provide.

I hope you are happy now, freely romping in a field of wildflowers, without me trying to catch you. Rest in peace, big fella.

With Love,
Shadrach
