You are gone, but not so far away,
that you memory in my heart will stay.
Your smiling face and wagging tail left its mark
upon everyone you did embark.
You were my life, my heart, my soul
making all feel they were the best person
on the planet was your goal.
Shani my dear Shani you suffered so
and all the vets they did not know.
Spoiled, drama queen, was your nickname
who could’ve known, who was to blame?
Surgery may have changed the game
but I would not allow any more pain.
It was the least I could do
to sit and hold you til peace came through.
I loved you so when you went away
and will remember you to the end of my day.
