Skooter Pie,
I remember the day our eyes met and I knew I would be bringing you home. And I remember your giggles as you ran up and down the hallway exploring your new home. It is why we named you Skooter! And with you, we shared many years of love, play, companionship and joy.
Skooter, you were always my Steady Buddy. Wherever I went, so did you. I knew all was well when I could look up and see you there, watching me, ready with your soft, loving eyes to send me a message. A message I received loud and clear. And sometimes it was a more intense look you sent my way, with the bob of your head accentuating your point.
Still, I never knew what you were going through. You never acted like there was anything wrong. And once I knew, I had to let you go. Now, when the sun is shining and the wind is blowing strong, I feel it is you enjoying and sharing your full and non-restricted breaths.
I miss you, Skooter. There is a hole in my heart that no one can fill. I hope that when you see me again you will greet me once again with all the love, enthusiasm, strength and speed that you possess.
Until then, my Skooter, you are in my heart forever.
Love always,
