"Smokey" April 1999 ----- October 23 2000
Cat
I only had Smokey for little over a year.
His life was cut short today by a tragic accident.
Just barely a cat he touched the hearts
of everyone who knew him.
He will be missed greatly by his family and
especially his new friend
Sierra a kitten that my family had aquired in May.
Smokey was her best friend.
They enjoyed chasing each other all day long and
then falling asleep together on the back of the love seat.
Sierra is already distraught by the fact
that she can't find him anywhere in the house.
I hope with time she won't miss him as much
but he will never be forgotten.
"If I could build a stairway to Heaven with my tears
I would climb up there and bring you home again."
