Sparky and Captain by Larry and Carrol Justus / Mom, Dad and Ben

I put an ad in classified to purchase a Boston Terrier for my son’s 8th birthday in Aug. 1992. A lady called and said she had 2 males, age 4 months. So we had her come to our home and bring both so we could choose which one we wanted. My son and I went out to her car to greet her when she drove up and sitting on her front seat were two cute little sweeties. One was black with white trim, the other was brindle and had white trim. I immediately picked up the smaller, black one. It felt like I just knew he was the one and Sparky had to be his name.

The lady carried the other puppy so we went inside and my husband fell for the brindle puppy. They were so cute we couldn’t bear to break them up so we bought both of them.

We named the brindle “Captain” and the little black one “Sparky”. We soon gave them the nickname “pig boys” cause they snored and snorted like little pigs. I even wrote “The Pig Boys” on their doghouse, which was heated in winter to keep them warm. They loved to romp and play and we loved them dearly.

Captain was found dead one morning just one day before his 9th birthday. Broke our hearts, including Sparky..Sparky died of cancer June 22nd 2004 and we are so broken hearted. We have two more Bostons; they are 3 yrs. old. We love them but there will never be anymore “Pig Boys” in this world. They were the real deal.
Sadly missed by your family boys.

Always in our hearts,
Sparky and Captain
