We brought “Storm” home as a 6-week old female puppy and she quickly became part of our family, in addition to our 4 year old Siberian Husky “Sierra.” Storm was more than simply a pet, she was an integral part of our family. Having no children yet, everything revolved around our “puppies”. We are devasted by her loss.
She and Sierra escaped from our fenced in yard 2 days ago, as has happened before. Each time we tried to figure out their next escape and prevent it. We never imagined the tragic outcome. We found her yesterday with Sierra by her side. Stormy appeared as if she just decided to lie down and go to sleep for good in a nice grass lawn. Even finding her there, she seemed so peaceful as the many nights that she had fallen asleep next to us. Sierra stayed all night and the next day with Stormy until we found them. Stormy was just over two years old.
We are comforted that Sierra never left her side. The hurt and pain is too deep to put into words. Although our time was too short, she will always be loved and missed by our family. Sierra constantly searches the house for his “sister”.
My only hope is that she is in a place where she can have eternal biscuits and endless fields to run, large ponds to jump in and cool off, and trucks that take her for rides whenever she wants. We can only hope that someday there will another Stormy to bless our lives with her type of infectious energy, happiness and love for her all-young and old.
In our hearts forever- Stormy
