Tai-Li by Cathy Wowkotrub

Tai-Li came into my life and into my home in the early part of spring of 1980.

I first saw her in a pet store and felt sorry for her sitting in that little cage and did not realize at that time that one day she would be mine.

I went away on vacation and it was about 5 weeks later that I wondered if she was still there. I decided that if she was I would buy her. Lucky for me there she was – waiting just for me.

Tai-Li brought me 16 years and 4 months of happiness. So many memories.

As she grew older she lost her hearing and her eyesight started to go. She seemed to be in a world of her own. I did not want to let her go but I realized that she was suffering. Tai-Li was put to sleep in July l996.

I still think of her constantly and wish I could turn back time – but that can never be.
