You came into this world as “Body Mary of Yusti” son of “Tubby o Arlington Texas” and “First Linda’s Susy” in Campo Miraflores, Venezuela.
You went to live with a lady in Caracas in June 1988 and a year later with John in Caracas. You loved living with John; he was home all day and you could watch him and sleep in the leather chair in the shade. There were two other dogs in your pack at John’s house,
and you loved their companionship.
You came to live with us in West Vancouver on April 12, 1992. You flew (by yourself) from Caracas to New York, New York to Seattle and we drove to Seattle to get you. You were doing a lot of barking when we arrived; we walked you around, got you in the car and you hunkered down on the floor for the drive to your new home.
You must have been so afraid.
You didn’t like living with us much. You missed your old family. We went out to work all day and left you alone. Strange place, strange smells, strange people. I’m sorry it took so long for you to know that we loved you and that this was your new home.
You went on lots of walks to get familiar with your new environment. To Ambleside Dog Park, Lighthouse Park, Capilano River and always around the neighbourhood – all the neighbours knew you and admired you. You were so beautiful – what a perfect looking bulldog!
A year later, we took you to meet another bulldog, Jordy. We wanted to see if you liked her, and you did, so we brought her home. She became your best friend and constant companion. You were never alone again and you grew to love all of us and know that we loved you.
I look around for you, but don’t see you. It’s so quiet and still without you here. You lived a good long life, Tank, and could not have been loved more.
Til we meet again,
| Tank |
